Katepal Elastomer Bitumen 100/40 is a bitumen adhesive compound for hot bonding bitumen membranes. It is used for moisture protection on concrete surfaces such as bridge edge beams, and for priming steel bridge decks before mastic application.

Field of use
Katepal Elastomer Bitumen 100/40 is a hot bonding adhesive bitumen
for bitumen membranes. A thermostat-controlled mixer must be used for
melting the bitumen. It should then be applied at temperatures below
220°C, with the optimal working temperature 200–220°C. Coverage is
approximately 1.5 kg/m² for full membrane bonding. The product is not
suitable for filling large joints, such as expansion joints in bridge or
deck structures.
Handling and storage
Katepal products should be stored in dry conditions away from direct sunlight and heat. Products should be handled with care before installation. Pallets must not be stacked. Pay attention to safe lifting practices: pallet lifting instructions can be found on our website katepal.fi. Dispose of empty packaging and dried product in landfill. Fresh product waste is hazardous and must be disposed of in accordance with legislation.
